Bedtime Books

Gracie got a surprise gift in the mail today from The Picerno's.  A big thank you to Lia, Chris, and James for sending Gracie 3 new bedtime books.  We read all of them before bed and she loved them.

Gracie's House

We got some cute video of Gracie really "playing" with everything on her house.  She's really good at going from sitting to leaning forward onto her hands and then up on her knees in an indian style position.  A few times she got herself into the "crawl position" but hasn't quite decided to moves those knees forward yet (which is probably a good thing - I'm secretly hoping that she won't figure out how to crawl until we're settled into our new house).

Our House in Moncton

As many of you know - we're moving again!  Todd did very well as the Sales Support Supervisor in Moncton and is now the Customer Service Operations Manager in Saint John. While we thought we were going to be in Moncton for two years - we only ended up being here for a year which didn't allow much time for visitors to come see us.  Since only our parents and Todd's sister, Katie, were able to come visit - we thought it would be fun to share pictures of our rental house.
Except for being far away from our family and friends we have really enjoyed living in Moncton. We are suppose to be in Saint John for 2 years - we pack up on Sept. 30 and will be unloaded into our new house in Rothesay, New Brunswick on Oct. 2nd.  The new rental house is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and is waterfront on the Kennebacsis River with an amazing view....please come see us!

Bottoms Up

I found Gracie sleeping with her little bottom pushed up in the air.  It was so cute.
Look at her chubby thighs!

Say AaaAahHHhh!

This seems to be a new thing.  Gracie has been sticking her tongue out a lot lately - this is after eating some strawberries for breakfast.  Her little personality is really developing and she is so funny!

Bed Head

She's finally getting some hair and this morning she woke up with bed head!

Jeans

I love these jeans - Our Blue Jean Baby Queen!
Perfect for playing in!
Look at the cute little bum (as they say in Canada)!
Just too cute!

The Red Hat

Gracie and Tucker love to be outside.  Todd was grilling out and our babies wanted to be out there too.  It was a little cool outside but the bigger issue was that the mosquitos were out - so we decided to protect Gracie's cute little bald head with our favorite hat.  We LOVE this red hat. Well, Mommy & Daddy love it...Gracie tolerates it and humors us (for now).

Come on, seeing her in the red hat makes you smile, doesn't it?

Playing House

A BIG Thank You to The Rogers Family!  They gave Gracie this really cute Fisher Price 2-sided House.  She loves opening/closing the door, looking through the window, watching me turn the lights on and off, & listening to the music.  It is such a neat little house.  I know she will get hours and hours of enjoyment playing with this!
Knock-knock!  Whose there?

Nite Nite

Gracie is now 7 months and wakes up 2-3 times at night.  I have always gone into her room for just about every little whimper I've heard over the monitor.  She will eat while she's half asleep for 5-10 minutes and falls right back to sleep for another 2-3 hours.  She's never been the type of baby that we've had to pace the halls with or rock to get her to sleep.  I tell myself we are very lucky because she really is a happy, good baby and only cries when she wants something.

However, 7 months waking up 2-3 times at night even for just a few minutes each time has taken its toll on me.  So, after searching the internet....I found a wonderful website on teaching your baby to sleep through the night.  It's called Sleep Sense.  I have struggled with and have flat out avoided the theory or philosophy of letting babies/children "cry it out".  After reading through the program, I decided that it was time for Gracie to "learn" how to fall asleep on her own and that we would be there along the way.

It hasn't been easy!  There have been tears - both from her and me!   But we are making progress.  I haven't been able to fully commit to it because Gracie got a cold last week and I just can't stand to see her upset when she doesn't feel good.  So, I am happy to report that we are both getting several more hours of uninterrupted sleep.  She's not sleeping all the way through the night yet, but I'm sure she will be soon!  Here's pictures from a week ago when we started.

Gracie hearts her Daddy!

Buddy, Baby, a Bow & Babbling

Gracie is feeling a little better today after her shots from yesterday.  Poor girl has big red knots on both of her hips where she got the shots.  :-(

Tucker (our Buddy) and Gracie in the backyard.

It's kind of ridiculous but I've been waiting and waiting to put a bow in her hair!   I know I'm silly for doing it, but I think she's so cute with it on the top of her head.  Don't worry, I won't put a bow in her hair again until she really has hair!  I just thought you'd get a giggle like I did.

Do you think she'll be mad at me when she grows up?  Wonder if she'll say...."why in the world did you put that bow in the little bit of hair I had?"

Nice tights

Hehe!!!  Just tell me how cute are these tights?
Have I mentioned how much we love Graice?
Let me just tell you -
We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this little girl!

Gracie had her wellness check-up today.  We had to push back her 6 month appt because we were in South Carolina.  She's now almost 7 months old and here are her stats:
19 lbs, 11 oz (95th percentile)
27 3/4 inches long (95th percentile)
Which means..."she's growing like a weed" according to her doctor.

She got 3 shots and has had a very fussy evening. Poor baby - we hate seeing her so upset.  She's sleeping in Mommy and Daddy's bed tonight for a little extra cuddling!

Just Playin'

I hope you enjoy watching Gracie play.  She's so funny with her screeching and babbling.  I'd love to know what she's thinking about!

Close Crawl?

I think our world is about to change!!!  Miss Gracie will be crawling soon.  She is getting very confident with going from sitting to leaning down onto her hands and moving her legs behind her.  She usually ends up on her belly and is much better about hanging out on her tummy without getting too upset.  I think with just a little more practice she's going to be on the move very soon.
Are we ready for this???  I guess we don't really have a choice.  It's so bittersweet watching our little baby grow up right before our eyes.
