Sitting in the rain

While she's not singing in the rain yet...she's definitely sitting in it!

A few weeks ago, when it wasn't sweltering hot, Todd and I were busy cleaning up our garage. Since it hasn't rained much at all the summer, Gracie had a blast sitting in the gutter scooping up rain water and putting it into her buckets.

ABCs

BeBe, my mom, flew in on Sunday...and we've been having fun and laughing lots! Gracie is keeping BeBe very busy and entertained all day long.

BeBe got this video of Gracie singing along to her playhouse's radio with the ABC song. We've probably watched this "bideo" 50 times already and giggle every time we hear her sing "L, N...O...B" for L, M, N, O, P and towards the end she's bobbing her head and humming along to the music and then finally finishes strong with "Uh...No ABCs" because BeBe had asked her to sing her ABCs multiple times trying to get the "bideo" of her singing it all the way through without stopping.

Finger Painting

New Kicks!

Someone got some new shoes...and ABSOLUTELY loves them.

Our little girl got some big girl shoes - real sneakers! She looks so much more grown up when she's got them on and she's so very proud of them.

I think what sold her was when we said they were like Daddy's and that they make her run really fast and jump really high! They must be super comfy too because she doesn't want to take them off.

We're thrilled that she loves them so much - thank you Ellee and Grape for Gracie's new sneaks.

DoughNOTS

Grape,Todd's Dad, was so sweet...he found this doughnut baking pan with recipe included while he was in Charlotte and thought it would be a fun little project for him and Ellee, Todd's Mom, to make with Gracie while they were here.

Realizing that MAYBE we didn't

baking soda is NOT the same as baking powder!

Oh Well - let's see what happens!

She had a BLAST mixing everything up and

shaking and eating all the sprinkles!

So...while the doughnuts turned out to be doughNOTs!

They still had so much fun "baking" together!

Next time we'll just make a run up to Krispy Kreme!

Our 4th

Todd's parents came up to visit us over the 4th of July weekend. As always, we had lots of fun with them. Unfortunately, it was TOO HOT to do a lot of things - so we stuck close by the house for almost all of our activities...one of these years I really want to go into DC to enjoy the celebrations of the 4th while we're living in the Nation's Capital (there's always next year).

Here's how we spent our day -

Wagon ride to the pond!

Feeding the turtles and fishies!

And the ducks and geese too.

And made Banana Pudding!

And sampled a few Nilla Wafers.

And told "Grape" he had to be patient until

the 2nd batch of Banana Pudding was ready!

Had lots of water balloon fights!

The fountain sparklers and pop throws were a HUGE hit!
